The Golden Rule

As you gear up for days filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments, let’s talk about a crucial ingredient for your festival survival: hydration.

Here’s the GOLDEN RULE: with every glass of alcohol, make sure to drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is one of the simplest yet most effective way to keep your body in top shape while you soak up the festival vibes.

But where can you find this life-saving H2O? Keep an eye out for the DRINKiQ water points available at 3 locations on the festival grounds. These hydration stations are your oasis, offering refreshing water to keep you going strong. So, as you toast the good times, make sure to grab that water bottle too. Your body will thank you, and you’ll be able to keep the party going strong from dusk till dawn.

Never drink on an empty stomach

If you choose to drink alcohol, make sure to eat a substantial meal rich in carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats beforehand. This slows down the absorption of alcohol in your stomach and provides lasting energy throughout the day. While partying, have some snacks from time to time to replenish the salts and minerals you lose while drinking alcohol.

Try to avoid sugar though, as too much of it can cause fluctuations in your blood sugar levels, which can exacerbate the effects of alcohol and make you feel worse.

At Heineken Balaton Sound, we await you with a wide and mouthwatering selection: you can choose from traditional and juicy meats to vegetarian and gluten free, lactose-free options.

Beach, sunshine, music – at your own pace

Know your limits and listen to your body’s signals. Keep track of how many alcoholic drinks you consume and stop drinking if you start to feel unwell. If you experience dizziness, nausea, or any other unpleasant symptoms at any time, stop and find a quiet place to rest.

You don’t have to keep up with your friends, dare to say no if you’ve had enough. We want you all to have unforgettable experience at Sound.

Look after your skin and hydrate

Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on your body, which can cause a range of symptoms, such as dry mouth and eyes, your skin may get itchy, prone to irritation and dry, so much so that if you pinch it, it takes time to recover.

A 70kg person weighs 49kg of water, 20% of which is concentrated in the skin. It’s important to hydrate frequently. Look for the DRINKiQ water points around the festival area to refresh yourself and keep your skin happy. While you enjoy the festival, don’t forget to drink water regularly. Your skin will thank you, and you can continue the party looking radiant at the festival.

Besides drinking water, make sure to use sunscreen regularly. Sunscreens not only protect against sunburn, they also help prevent the damaging effects of the sun. Apply these products at least every two hours. This will ensure that your skin stays healthy throughout the festival.

Plan Ahead

Before you enter the festival, have a plan to get home safely. Use public transportation, a rideshare service, or designate a sober driver.

Make sure you and your friends have a way to contact each other in case you get separated and have a meeting point in case you get separated.

You will record plenty of videos and go live at the best party of your life. So make sure you keep your phone charged. You don’t want to run out of juice when you need it the most.

Went too hard? Drink plenty of water and recharge

If last night got a bit out of hand, it is time to sit the next one out and rest as much as you can.

“Hair of the dog”, drinking on a hangover doesn’t work. Although it may temporality alleviate the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, it only delays the problem, worsen its effects, and extends recovery time.

Instead, drink plenty of water or go for a drink rich in electrolytes or a smoothie to replenish the lost minerals.

Walk this way, drink this way…

Although it may be tempting to start the day with a cup of coffee, caffeine can further dehydrate your body and increase hangover symptoms, so it’s best to avoid it. If you can, eat light, nutritious meals. We got you covered. Once you feel better, a light walk or some stretching exercises can easily stimulate blood circulation and speed up detoxification. Enjoy the shade and a refreshing splash in Lake Balaton whenever you feel ready.

Be kind and accepting yourself and the situation. Recuperate and continue the festival with renewed energy!
